Listing Your Room on rooms
Ready to list your room? Here’s how to make it attractive to potential renting professionals:
Step 1: Gather Your Info
- Take high-quality photos that showcase your room’s best features with multiple images.
- Set a competitive hourly rate (you can adjust it later). There will be a 18% admin fee deducted from your rate, so take that into account!
- Example of admin fee deduction: listed price (R100) – 18% (admin fee)= R82 payout to you.
- List the features of your space. Include everything (size, equipment, amenities, etc.). Be thorough – renters will be searching for specific needs.
- Clearly state any specific requirements for the professional renting your room (e.g., photo ID for building access).
Step 2: Set Your Availability in Your Profile
- Select all days that your room is potentially available in your listing profile.
- Define your earliest and latest possible booking times in your listing profile.
Step 3: Finalize and Submit
- Accept the terms and conditions.
- Submit your listing.
- Once your listing has been approved by rooms, you’ll receive an email.
Step 4: Manage Your Calendar
- Once your room listing has been accepted, you need to manage your rooms availability, in the calendar of that listing.
- Visit your listing and click “Calendar” to open available booking slots.
- Update your availability weekly or as needed.
Step 5: Manage a Booking
- When a professional wants to rent your room, you will receive a request via email.
- Look at the potential renters profile thoroughly.
- Accept or decline the booking. NO BOOKINGS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ACCEPTED WITHOUT YOU ACTIONING IT.
- Once the renter has paid, the booking is confirmed!
- You can communicate with the renting professional at any time on the platform.
Step 6: Getting paid
- To get the funds deposited into your account, you need to request a pay out, which can be done at any time on the site in your profile.
- A proof of account from the bank, no older than 3 months old, will need to be sent to info@rooms-online.co.za to verify your account.
